2015.5.23 [Restaurant] Seoul Snack

One of popular simple food is "Topokki", it is cheap and taste is good, so most students enjoy this with friends. I also have eaten this with my friends when I was a student.
Topokki is enough for meal. and good for side dish with drinking beer at night.

Topokki is seasoned bar rice cake. The seasoning is red pepper paste, sugar.
As you see, it looks spicy but the taste of spicy can control by how much red pepper is put in.

Seoul Snack is the name of restaurant near Seoul Forest. My family was really pleased with these foods, Topokki, Gomari.

2015.5.24 [Restaurant] Hand made Jjamppong in Mt.Cheongkye

There is Mt. Cheongkye in southern of Seoul.
The origin of the name of this restaurant is from the mountain, Cheongkye.

This is Chinese restaurant, so there are many general foods such as Jjajjangmyeon, Tangsuyuk(Fried port), etc.

My wife and I ordered two dishes. Jjangppong and mixed rice with Jjangjang.
Jjanmppong is spicy noddle. So I guess foreigner will be surprised with the hot spicy.
Many marine products and vegetables are cooked in the jjamppong. I like this food.
Mixed rice also good food here. Jjajjang is one of popular food in Korea, such as curry in India.

2015.5.23 [Place] Seoul Forest and Han River

On Saturday, my wife and I visited on of part in Seoul, "Seoul Forest".
Taking on Bundang line of subway, we can go to this place, the name of station is same, "Seoul Forest".

It was first time for my wife and me to visit here. The park is very large, so we walked for more than 1 hour. We saw deer and walked to Han River and took a rest on the bench.

Many people visited the park and spent time with their family. It looked happy, children really like this place, they were running, running and running and laughing.

Let's watch these photos and feel Seoul.

2015.5.22 [Food] Ice cream sweet red bean bread

In Yangjae subway station, there is popular bakery, the name is "Yeon-In DanPatPang" in Korean. With translating into English, it is "Lover's sweet red bean bread".
The sweet red bean is popular ingredient of bread and cake in Asian country.
The unique item of this bakery is "ice cream sweet red bean bread". ice cream is inside the bread.

white thing is ice cream and dark thing is sweet red bean.

2015.5.17 [Cooking] Toenjang-chigae (=Soy bean paste pot stew)

This is for breakfast on Sunday.
All of dishes are cooked by my wife. she got talent for cooking.
Toenjang-chigae is Korean traditional stew. It is very good for health. Its main ingredient is bean paste called toenjang. It is aged by Korean style. the period is quite long from a year to several years. boiling water with toenjang, add tofu and vegetables in the pot.
It is simple.

When I was young, I did not eat this stew. Its smell is not good for me. If you meet this first time, you will also worry to eat because of smell.
However if you try and eat it continuously. you can find real taste of this.

2015.5.16 [Cooking] Kimchi Bokkum Bab (Mixed rice with Kimchi)

This is simple dish of our family.

Mixed rice with Kimchi. It tastes very good for me and easy to cook.
when you visit Korean restaurant, try and enjoy it.

2015.5.17 [Place] Shinsegae Premium Outlet in Yeoju

On Sunday, my wife and I visited Yeoju for visiting the outlet.
It is 60 kilometers far from my house. It took one hour by car.
It was first visit for me. That place quite big, so we took around more than two hours.
Many global fashion brand shop opened with 30~50% discount. so my wife and I bought some clothes.

I drive to Yeoju

weather is so good for walking.

I like churros. these days, STREET CHURROS catches on with Korean.
